ABOUT

The Immaterial Gallery begins as an idea rather than a building — a gallery that transcends the traditional confines of walls and geography. For now, it lives through the artists, books, and exhibitions we assemble, exploring how art circulates through images, publications, and shared experiences rather than fixed space.

The gallery hosts a range of projects — from solo presentations to thematic group exhibitions — each an experiment in how we experience, interpret, and interact with art today. Our focus is on contemporary practice that engages social, ecological, and technological questions with imagination and critical care.

Immaterial Gallery is committed to local engagement in Champaign, Illinois, while participating in a wider dialogue that connects artists, readers, and publics across distances. Over time, we are building a collection — the foundation for a future physical space in Champaign — one that will reflect the community, artists, and ideas that shaped its beginnings in the immaterial.
